Our Mission
To empower Indigenous Peoples to achieve self-determined development, safeguarding their ancestral lands, cultural integrity, and socio-economic well-being.
Our mission is a commitment to action. We serve as a pivotal force in bridging the persistent gap between the legal recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ (IP) rights under the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997 and their actual realization on the ground. We achieve this by acting as both a staunch advocate for policy reform and a direct implementer of culturally-rooted support services. By fostering self-reliance through legal empowerment, sustainable economic initiatives, and strong cooperative movements, we work to ensure that IP communities are not merely beneficiaries of development, but the primary authors of their own futures.
Our Vision
We envision a future where the rights of all Indigenous Peoples are fully respected and upheld, and where they are active leaders in their own sustainable development.
This vision is of a Philippines where Indigenous communities thrive with dignity and resilience. It is a future where ancestral domains are secure, traditional knowledge systems are valued as a vital part of the national heritage, and cultural integrity is preserved for generations to come. In this future, Indigenous Peoples are empowered stewards of their lands and resources, their voices are integral to national discourse, and their unique contributions to society are celebrated. We see a nation where self-determination is not just a right enshrined in law, but a lived reality for every indigenous community.
